Therapy is a collaborative process where we slow down, reflect, and begin to better understand the patterns shaping your inner and relational life.

Some days clients arrive feeling calm and reflective, while other days they may come in feeling overwhelmed or anxious. Part of the therapeutic process involves co-regulating the nervous system, allowing space to slow down, settle, and reconnect with yourself.

For some individuals, attending sessions in person can be especially helpful. The act of physically coming into the therapy space often creates a natural pause from daily life and can feel like a meaningful step toward prioritizing your own well-being and self-care.

Typical sessions are 55 minutes and occur on a weekly or bi weekly basis, though frequency can be adjusted depending on your needs and goals. Therapy is not about having the “right” things to say.

In sessions with Rifa, you may spend time reflecting on current experiences, relationships, or emotions, while also exploring deeper patterns, past experiences, and the ways your nervous system responds to stress or connection. At times you may sit with difficult emotions, and there may be moments where tears are present in the room. Other sessions may bring laughter, relief, and the opportunity to celebrate meaningful growth and moments in your life. Therapy is not only about navigating challenges, but also about recognizing progress, honoring the highs, and feeling supported through the full range of human experience.

What to Expect

Sometimes the work of therapy is simply learning how to be human with ourselves again”.— Rifa

Steps to Start

Reaching Out

The process begins by submitting the contact form or sending an email. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Taking the first step is often the hardest one.

Initial Connection

Someone from the practice will respond within 1–2 business days. From there, we can answer questions and explore the next steps.

Some individuals prefer a brief consultation call to ask questions and see whether working together feels like a good fit before scheduling their first appointment.

Getting Started

Once a session is scheduled, you will receive access to the secure client portal where you can complete intake forms before your first appointment.

The First Session

The first session is a space for us to begin getting to know one another. We will explore what brings you to therapy, your personal and relational history, and what you hope to gain from the process.

Together we will begin identifying areas of focus and intentions for the work moving forward.

The Ongoing Work

Therapy unfolds gradually over time. As the work deepens, many clients begin to develop greater self-awareness, emotional clarity, and a deeper understanding of the patterns shaping their relationships and inner world.

You do not have to navigate this process alone.
